To drink tea is to embark on a journey of the senses: a moment of pause in a busy world. At Palais des Thés, we invite you to explore a vast world of flavors tailored to your unique tastes and desires.
Tea is a natural beverage derived from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis, a shrub cultivated for millennia across Asia. The diverse "colors" of tea- Green, Black, White, Oolong, and Dark tea- all originate from this same plant. The difference lies in the level of oxidation and processing: Green tea is unoxidized to preserve its vegetal freshness, while Black tea is fully oxidized to develop rich, woody notes. White tea remains the most delicate and least processed, offering a subtle and refined experience. Beyond single-estate teas, we also offer flavored blends where flowers, fruits, and spices create iconic favorites like Jasmine tea or the citrusy Earl Grey.
Tea is celebrated globally for its numerous wellness properties. Green tea, for instance, is naturally rich in antioxidants that help combat cellular aging. The unique combination of caffeine (theine) and L-theanine promotes enhanced focus and mental clarity while maintaining a sense of calm. Additionally, green and white teas are highly regarded for their detoxifying virtues. Ultimately, however, the greatest source of well-being comes from the pure pleasure and relaxation found in every sip of a high-quality brew.
A perfect tasting experience depends on proper preparation. To reveal the full aromatic complexity of your tea, you must respect two key variables: water temperature and infusion time. Delicate Green teas should be infused at 170°F - 175°F for 2 to 3 minutes to avoid bitterness. In contrast, robust Black teas or Oolongs require hotter water, around 195°F - 205°F and can often withstand longer steeping times.
You can find the specific brewing parameters for every Palais des Thés tea on our packaging to ensure a perfect cup every time.
