Description
Le Thé Guimet is a refined blend of green tea with fresh and floral fragrances, evoking delicate citrus fruit and cherry blossom. Imbued with the spirit of Japan, the recipe also contains a scattering of cornflower petals.
The idea behind the tea was to devise a recipe in homage to Emile Guimet, founder of the eponymous museum. The cornflower petals are a reference to "Guimet blue”, also known as "artificial ultramarine”, which was invented by Jean-Baptiste Guimet, Emile’s father.
The citrus and cherry blossom symbolise the period in Japan when Emile Guimet began acquiring the objects that would later form one of the best-known collections in France dedicated to Asian cultures.
