Matcha Impérial is an invigorating organic Japanese green tea, round and mellow, which develops delicious vegetal notes, complemented by a powerful umami flavour.
It is made with the greatest care using tencha leaves : 3 weeks before harvest, the tea plant are deprived of most of the light, causing their leaves to develop unrivalled flavours. The tencha leaves are then carrefully ground in a stone mill until the have the fine texture of flour.
This tea is not infused, but is whisked into water. This means the tea leaves are consumes, which explains the delicious flavour of Matcha Impérial as well as its many benefits. It is a super-food with many qualities. Rich in caffeine, with energising properties, and in theanine, which aids relaxation and concentration, one bowl of matcha contains up to 3 times more catechin (a molecule with strong anti-oxidant properties) than any other green tea.

Suggestion of preparation
Unlike other teas, matcha is ground to a fine powder. This green teas is not infused but beaten. It is prepared using a whisk, bowl and spatula.
• Place 2 spatulas (or one level teaspoon) of Matcha Impérial in a bowl.
• Pour over 70ml of water heated to 70°C.
• Hold the bowl in one hand and, with the other, beat the tea sharply with a whisk until it forms a smooth foam. Once the matcha is foamy and blended, drink.
NB : we suggest you use an electric whisk for Matcha, to obtain the perfect rich foam! You can also use cow’s milk or soya milk – it’s delicious!
