Description
This Grand Cru comes from the Cauca Valley in Colombia. It’s harvested at elevations between 1,800 and 2,100 meters in the Andes mountain range. The high-altitude soil provides exceptional climatic conditions for growing tea plants.
This is a bold green tea, marked by an elegant astringency that complements its vegetal, mineral, and fruity notes.
The tea is sourced from a small farming community situated at 2,100 meters. Made up of twenty workers, this community collaborates to ensure access to drinking water, electricity, and scholarship opportunities for all local residents. The dense morning fog promotes slow growth of the tea bushes, while midday sun exposure helps to refine the tea’s delicate fragrances.
The estate spans 200 hectares, but only 70 of those are dedicated to tea cultivation. This is due to the wooded areas interspersed among the tea plants, creating a true nature reserve that is home to over 176 different species.
