Description
This tea is harvested from 50-year-old tea plants growing on Mount Thyolo at an altitude of more than 1,000 metres.Thyolo is the name of a mountain, a town, a district and the cultivar used to produce this tea: the 312 Thyolo Oolong is a native cultivar which lends this tea a unique aromatic profile. The tea plants grow in a sub-tropical climate that is dry in winter and humid in summer. The seasons are reversed in Malawi as it is located in the southern hemisphere. Harvested in September, this tea is therefore actually a spring tea.
