This Grand Cru is flavored with real, freshly picked lotus flowers. It was harvested in Ta Thang, which is over 1,100 meters above sea level. It is combined with lotus stamens to imbue the aroma upon contact. A one-of-a-kind flavored tea.
A smooth, sweet green tea flavored with lotus flowers. The floral and aniseed aroma of lotus is a perfect foil to the complex notes of this tea.
To go further
The tea is harvested in May. It is derived from a hundred-year-old variety of tea plant known as Shan plants. The lotus flowers are harvested in July. The flowers wither for 4 hours before the various parts are separated from one another (petals, seeds and pistils). The tea is then combined with the seeds and stamens. The lotus flavor will thus be transferred by contact throughout the night until the stamens are removed early in the morning. This process will be repeated several times depending on the results until the desired aroma is obtained. This manual production process necessitates a high level of expertise, dexterity, and precision.
