This tea is made in the Phuguri tea estate in Darjeeling, in the Mirik valley. The first tea plants were planted here by Mr Bhavajit Rai in 1875. The plantations are located between 1,000 and 1,300 metres above sea level, near the border with Nepal.
The estate's name comes from the word "Phungri", which means "Bamboo" in Lepcha, as many bamboo plants could be found growing in the area in the past. This garden boasts rich biodiversity, with well-preserved fauna and flora. This Grand Cru was produced from the AV2 cultivar, which is renowned for its heady floral notes.
A delicious summer Darjeeling with a delicately powdered texture, which reveals a distinctive rose note with a long finish.

This tea is grown organically and certified by Ecocert, an accredited independent certification body.
