Detail
This superb harvest has a silky texture and rich notes of woods, fruit, and roasted coffee and cocoa with a lingering finish of fresh hazelnuts.

Hunan, which means “south of the lake”, is a province in South-East China. Its name comes from its location, as it lies south of Lake Dongting.

François-Xavier Delmas' choice:
“ The Chinese province of Hunan is not well known for tea, but that does not mean you don’t sometimes find extraordinary teas there, like these spirals from Mount Huping.”

Specificities:
- Origin: Hunan, China
- Tea color: black tea

Dry leaves:
- Appearance: an exceptional plucking of a bud and one leaf. The leaves are rolled into small spirals
- Color: fawn
- Scents: hay, tobacco, animal, wood, wax

Brewed leaves (infusion):
- Scents: fruit, cocoa, burnt notes, wood, nuts (fresh hazelnut), vanilla pod, wax

Liquor:
- Color: amber
- Texture: silky
- Flavors: a delicate bitterness and sweetness at the back of the mouth
- Aromas: burnt notes (coffee, cocoa), wood, fruit (fig, mirabelle plum), animal (leather), vanilla pod, honey, wax, nuts (fresh hazelnut)
- Aromatic profile and length in the mouth: a lovely presence in the mouth! The liquor has plenty of warm, fruity notes and a lingering underlying note of fresh hazelnut.

Grands Crus: savor the exceptional
Rare and ephemeral, teas identified as Grands Crus by Palais des Thés are the result of alchemy between a tea plant variety, its terroir and the talent of an artisan grower. Meticulously plucked, processed and sourced in the most respected tea gardens, our Grands Crus unveil unique flavors that reflect the refinement of their origins.
