Well-respected in Paris for its "Tea School" (founded in 1999), Palais des Thés is bringing its long-standing commitment to tea education to the Big Apple with on-going weekend tea classes starting in April 2013. One-hour tea tasting classes will be taught by Aurelie Bessière, the company’s U.S. Director and niece of the company founder, and by other tea experts from the SoHo boutique. Classes will be held on Saturdays and Sundays with a maximum of six participants per class, offering an intimate and relaxed atmosphere ideal for tea enjoyment. Private tea tasting events are also available on request. The tea classes will start with a journey into the tea plant itself while also exploring the craft of creating fine teas through a detailed and selective process. Participants will enjoy the full sensory experience of tea tasting and the tea expert will share anecdotes and background information about each tea. Overall, participants will take away a thorough ‘behind-the-scenes’ understanding of tea from production to taste.
