The types of tea

Green tea, black tea, white tea, dark tea or red tea: tea comes in all colors and each color corresponds to a very particular type of tea. At the root of this diversity is just one plant - the tea plant - whose leaves have been processed in different ways and undergone numerous transformations.

The most important of these processes is fermentation, a chemical reaction that occurs as a result of enzymes contained in the fresh leaf. By initiating and controlling this process, the tea planter gives the tea its desired color.
